Who are we?

Youth Insearch is a community organisation that coordinates programs focusing on resolving adolescent issues at a peer level. Young people, between the ages of 12 and 17, come from varying social and cultural backgrounds. The program has no religious or political affiliations.

The Youth Insearch theory “peers supporting peers” utilises the experience of extensively trained young people, who support and guide other young people.

Youth Insearch Objectives

• To enhance the young people’s self esteem, enabling them to take control of their lives and build a positive future for themselves
• To increase school retention
• To reduce drug and alcohol abuse
• To reduce the occurrence of youth suicide
• To break the cycle of family breakdown by giving young people skills to establish loving and caring families
• To reduce violence, crime and abuse in young people
